Hello! I'm Amy.
STUDENT PARENT TEACHER PRINCIPAL ATTORNEY
EDUCATION LAW
Do you need help navigating your child
through a public or charter school?
Do you feel like no one is helping?
As a veteran teacher and principal
in the Utah public schools for more than 24 years,
I know my way around school systems.
I have been a student in higher education for ten years.
I am the parent of three school-aged children, one with Autism.
I am a Utah attorney specializing in Education.
I can help.
DIVORCE & CUSTODY
Is your marriage ending?
This can be a terrible time for many people.
I can get your divorce started quickly and
use several strategies to keep things moving along.
You do not need to do this alone.
I am a Utah Family Law attorney.
I can help.
SPECIAL EDUCATION
Do you need help for a child with a disability?
It can be frustrating to advocate alone.
I have led and attended hundreds of
successful IEP meetings.
Let's review your child's assessments, goals,
and services to see what he or she needs.
We can use the full power of IDEA to
put together a plan for your child.
I am a Utah IEP attorney.
I can help.
DISCIPLINE
Has your child made a mistake at school?
It happens. You are not alone.
Perhaps the school is talking about
suspending or expelling your child.
I can help write a plan for your child,
and all children, to be safe and to learn.
I am a Utah school law attorney.
I can help.

LAW SCHOOL
I went to law school to advocate for public education in Utah. Utah ranks 50th in the nation for K-12 per pupil education funding. During law school, I participated in the Public Policy Clinic, studying and lecturing on the School-to-Prison Pipeline.

MASTERS OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
To better understand the functions in government, I obtained a degree in public administration. This broadened my knowledge of human resources, ethics, nonprofit organizations, budgeting, finance, research, and social justice leadership.
NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION FOR TEACHERS
Seeking to continue to grow as an educator, I took the rigorous National Board assessment for teachers. Certifying in 2008, I recently renewed, and will be certified until 2029.

Specialized Certification
2000-2001

BACHELORS OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
It was natural that I studied education, as I have always found children highly entertaining. I teach with respect and preserve the dignity of each child.
COMMUNICATING
Do you need help explaining your child's needs to school staff? Do you struggle to understand the terms used in meetings?
I have led and attended hundreds of problem solving and IEP meetings! I can get people talking, make sure you are listened to, and guarantee that you will understand.
SOLVING PROBLEMS AT HOME AND SCHOOL
I believe in a child's ability to succeed. As a National Board Certified Teacher, I create interventions, design home notes, adapt assignments, & analyze discipline plans. With tough kids, I bring ideas that have worked for many other families. I am calm, hopeful, and determined to help kids.
